This vintage Indian wooden pot is believed to have been used as an axle grease container. It is a practical example of traditional agricultural equipment and works well as a decorative piece for rustic or industrial interiors.
Origin & Age:
A genuine vintage Indian item, likely used on carts or wagons to hold grease for lubricating wooden axles and wheels.
Material & Craftsmanship:
Carved from a single piece of wood with a natural aged patina and visible wear. The front includes simple carved flower or star motifs, reflecting basic folk design. The pot is fitted with an old wrought iron handle and metal loops secured with iron pins.
Handle:
The iron handle is attached with twisted rings. A wooden piece inside the cavity suggests it may have been used to carry or apply the grease.
Condition:
Shows expected vintage wear, including stains, small cracks, and metal oxidation. Overall in very good functional vintage condition.
This piece works well as a decorative object or as a distinctive catch-all container.
