This captivating vintage oil on canvas hand painted reproduction of Theodoor Rombouts' "The Card Players", depicts a lively Flemish Baroque genre scene of four men gathered around a table engrossed in cards, joined by an old woman. With a few scuffs and imperfections commensurate with its age (please zoom in on pictures for further details).
The original 17th-century work (c. 1620s), by Caravaggesque master Theodoor Rombouts (1597–1637), captures everyday revelry with dramatic realism and rich tenebrism—inspired by Bartolomeo Manfredi—originally housed in Antwerp's Koninklijk Museum voor Schone Kunsten (with multiple versions existing).
